Hard House |

So I was just thinking... back when I started posting on these here boards, I gave hard house a lot of stick. A few people called me ignorant, and a few called
pot/kettle/black since I was a gabba head... but can we all now agree that hard house was a shit non-genre? It was entirely redundant and did not provide even
one classic tune.

Nonsense, Tony De Vit was responsible for a few classics on his own, Bits & Pieces and Tribal Church are hard house, plenty more too if my tooth wasnt so
sore and i could be arsed to think about it

How many classics has gabba produced Stoxy? Quit talking out yer hoop!
Being serious though, hard house might not have been one of the larger genres but it had its place in the scene. To say it never produced any classics is a bit harsh at the likes of TDV - The Dawn, Artemesia - Bits & Pieces, Cortina - The Music is Moving and even some of the later stuff like BK - Revolution and Heavens Cry - Til Tears Do Us Part are all considered as classics |

You's are both talking about tunes that are classified as "trance" and currently sold in shops as old skool trance. If that 's the only
defence that hardhouse has, then that just demonstrates what a kiddy-marketed non-genre it was. as for what classics gabba had... Industrial strength, mokum,
bloody fist, 3rd movement and deathchant would like a word with you
Nice Work, Boy-o!

SoundHard house is typified by a set formula of up-tempo house music compressed kick drums, signature style off-beat basslines and the use of 'hoover' type sounds. In contempt of the name it shares some parts in style with house music, but borrows elements heavily from trance music (synths and sometimes breakdown formula), and hardcore/rave music (hoover sounds, chants). Generally, hard house is part of a wider group of styles called hard dance and has little in common with the modern trance or house scenes going for a stronger storm sound. HistoryTony De Vit was one of the pioneers of the sound in the early 90's, playing a harder, louder, faster style of dance music. The hard house scene grew in popularity throughout the 90's with Trade and Chuff Chuff being joined by several other large club nights e.g. Sundissential, Tidy Trax, Insomniacz, Slinky, Passion and many more. Many of which have also now moved over to other types of dance music. |

the dude talking about space, network etc is magwa who used to post here. saw him in shine a while ago.
as for hard house, the ony de vit brand was good. started to go really shit around 1999, and i mean really shit. the hard house after that time i guess mutated into hard dance with lisa lashes and the tidy boys etc flying the flag so to conclude, hardhouse pre milennium = some good hard house after = shite, shite, shite. |

it really was though, not that you could stride about in a celtic top or anything but its the most safe and comfortable club ive ever been in, no one gave a
fuck, shine can be full of scumbags or stuck up cunts, ffs me and foxy used to have full games of tig on the dancefloor and nothing happened lol
as for hard house, as ive said, the stuff your talking about is the hoovers and horns shit lisa lashes etc was playing, but proper hard house, was basically a hard for of house, as i say the old trade stuff, check out alan thompson and the sharp boys from the trade tent essential mix 2000 for a glory days bonanza! |
