I don't *want* to buy a house, but I'm conscious that I'm spending money on rent that could be better spent on mortgage repayments.... current
house prices mean I'm happy to leave it another year at least though

Yeah thats what it is, its the fact that Im chucking away in rent what could be paid in a mortgage and not saving anything for a deposit. At some point Im
gonna need to save for a deposit and I cant see how I'll do that when Im renting. But I cant live with my parents cos they deserve to have the house to
themselves at this stage and I dont want to live with my parents at this age, so I'll be renting for another while yet...
